Statement on Racism

Racism in any form is wrong.  As public health professionals, international experts, and evaluators, we commit to working towards a more equitable and just world.

Racism is a public health issue, affecting people’s physical and mental health. Racial discrimination impacts the social determinants of health, including housing, education, the criminal justice system, and employment. As public health practitioners, we commit to tackling health disparities and working to dismantle the barriers to health for everyone.

As evaluators, we commit to rigorously address the structures, systems and impact of racism in our work. We will strive to collect and analyze data that can illustrate systemic inequities. We commit to using our skills to expose racism and continually question how data may reinforce implicit bias.

As a company, we commit to diversity in our hiring practices and to equity in our policies and pay. We stand in solidarity with all people who repudiate racism, sexism, and all forms of discrimination.

Words alone are not enough, antiracism requires action. Please join us in supporting Data for Black Lives’ mission of “using data science to create concrete and measurable change in the lives of Black people” with a donation to this important work.
